I’ve been a full-time photographer since 2010. That’s when I left an office job I hated and decided to go down the rabbit hole that is photography.

It’s been a wild ride ever since, but it’s been one that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

My work has allowed me to go all over the United States to work with fantastic people, and I hope to do the same for you.

While weddings and portraits are a big part of my photography work and can be found at DSmithImages Photography, this site will showcase my concert photography, places photography, and event photography.

I’ve been an Entertainment Contributor for Getty Images since 2013, so I have an extensive background in photographing concerts of all sizes in the areas of Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia.

My work has been seen all over the world in publications such as Rolling Stone, The New York Times, and many many others.

Before Getty, I put in several years photographing bands in small, cramped, and dimly lit bars. It was absolutely the best training for what I do now.

I’m a big fan of motion pictures, and I have a degree in Critical Film and Television Studies. My love of motion pictures directly inspires what I do with still photography.
